Information at a glance!
1. Scalp hair is the only source recommended for analysis. Pubic and other body hair should only be used as a last resort if scalp hair is not available. Hair needs to be clean and untreated. Scissors must be clean.
2. Required: 0.125 grams (125 mg), 1 teaspoon or enough to cover a 50-cent coin.
3. Recommended areas for collection: nape of the neck and back of the head. The sample should be approximately 3cm long ie. retain 3cm closest to the root and discard the excess.
4. Place hair sample in a paper envelope or folded into a clean sheet of paper. Ensure request form is completed.
